My editing practice has been active since 1981. I have edited short stories, novels, non-fiction books, articles for publication in professional journals, and corporate documents. I do substantive editing, copy-editing, and proofreading. I am not a formatting editor. My approach is to make suggestions, to try to elicit the writer’s best, to respect the writer’s voice and intent. If, in my opinion, a manuscript is not ready for an edit, I will let the writer know.
